Thank you to all who were involved in Nola Fashion Week. Your passion for this industry is more important than you know. I am so incredibly lucky to be a part of a community that lends so much love and support. New Orleans is truly a unique city, and I am awed everyday, by her beauty and character.
BLACK AND GOLD OF THE WEEK!
SAINTS VS. COLTS
Well, it has been a helluva week! Nola Fashion Week has come to a close, after countless hours have been spent planning, constructing, contacting, negotiating, promoting, worrying, not sleeping, and just plain doing, just to see it all go by in a flash. I am so honored to have been a part of this event. We have such amazing talent, here in Louisiana, and I am so happy that it is able to be showcased in the way it deserves. To know that we, designers, have a tight knit community standing behind us, fighting for us, holding us up when we think there is no way, and above all, the love….oh, the love….it fills my heart to the brim. There is no denying what can be accomplished with such love and passion.
It has taken me a long time to find a place where I belong, and a place where I am supported. Finally, I am home. Thank you, Nola Fashion Week. Thank you, New Orleans.
BLACK and GOLD of the week!
I say, why stop at wearing the most beautiful color combo ever? It’s time to bring the flava inside! I found this wallpaper, and thought it was a great way to support your team, without looking like you are hosting a tailgating party in your house. It’s chic, modern, and it emits the aroma of class…..the same fragrant smell you’re gonna get when the Saints whomp up on some Texans! So, put your war paint on, and get to wallpapering.
BLACK AND GOLD OF THE WEEK!
Dear Saintsations,
You manage to take the class out of the color combination, black and gold. Those boots look like you resurrected them from your closet after going as a pirate hooker, for halloween. May I suggest something a little more modern….and they may just make you the hippest of all the cheerleaders in all the land.
As you may already know, I am a HUGE fan of the New Orleans Saints……and all things New Orleans! The weather is fine and Christmas is here. Christmas being the opening game, Saints v. Packers. And it is once again, time for Black and Gold of the Week. What better way to kick things off, but with a recipe for Black and Gold Punch.
Black and Gold Punch
1 oz. Herradura Reposado tequila
10 oz. Stout
1/2 cup Sweetened condensed milk
1/16 tsp. Nutmeg
1/16 tsp. Cinnamon
Pour all ingredients into a mixing bowl and combine witha whisk. Strain into a chilled beer mug and serve. (makes 1 drink)

Thanks to Jess James, for the awesome write up! Very accurate……sans cursing :)
Jess and I met in Wilmington, NC, where I lived several years ago. She has definitely carved out a niche for herself and the fashion community, there, by hosting amazing…and very successful, social and style events. Jess is one of the first (that is not a member of my family) that really believed in me and my potential, and ever since we met, she has been trying to get the Amanda deLeon ball rolling.
Jess,
Thank you for standing behind my designs, even when they were just a rebuttal to popular social culture.
Amanda deLeon Clothing has been chosen for the front page of Not Just A Label! I absolutely love this site and can’t wait to become even more involved with the team at NJAL.
